Virtual ADHD Therapy for Adults, Couples, and Families

I’m Mikayla T. Phan, MA, LMFT, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing virtual ADHD therapy for individuals, couples, and families across Wisconsin struggling with overwhelm, emotional exhaustion, relationship stress, and chronic follow-through difficulties.

Many of the people I work with spend enormous mental energy trying to keep up with daily responsibilities, emotional regulation, communication struggles, and chronic overwhelm.

My Professional Background

Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 25 years as a Life Coach and ADHD Coach, studying and working exclusively with one condition: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). During that time, I earned certifications from both the Center for Coaching Certification as a Life Coach and JST Coaching & Training as an ADHD Coach. That experience gave me firsthand insight into how deeply ADHD can affect confidence, relationships, emotional regulation, organization, and everyday functioning over time.

This foundation, combined with clinical therapy training and over 3,500 hours of residency experience, allows me to help individuals, couples, and families address the emotional and relational patterns that often develop after years of feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, disorganized, or mentally overloaded. My work centers on helping individuals, couples, and families address relationship patterns, strengthen emotional awareness, and develop executive functioning tools that truly align with the ADHD brain.

Education and Professional Recognition

My clinical education and training focused heavily on relationship systems, emotional regulation, communication dynamics, and long-term behavioral change within individuals, couples, and families. I graduated from Northcentral University’s School of Behavioral and Social Sciences with a 4.0 GPA and was inducted into Delta Kappa, the International Marriage and Family Therapy Honor Society.

Integrating Coaching and Therapy

With nearly three decades of experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate ADHD, I bring together the insight of ADHD coaching and the clinical depth of therapy to create a process that fosters genuine growth. Coaching taught me how to design structured, results-oriented tools that make sense for the ADHD mind. Therapy adds the emotional understanding needed to address shame, self-doubt, communication struggles, burnout, and the exhausting feeling of trying hard without feeling caught up.

This integration helps clients do more than “cope” — it helps them understand themselves in new ways, communicate more clearly, and finally understand why life has felt harder than it seems to for other people. Whether we’re addressing focus, motivation, emotional regulation, or relational dynamics, our work together is designed to meet you exactly where you are and build steady progress from there.
